Reporting a bug
Please include these — with them a problem is usually fixable in one pass, without them it often is not reproducible at all:
- Which tool you were using, and what you expected to happen.
- Your phone model and Android version.
- The app version, shown at the bottom of Settings.
- For a code that will not scan: the format you downloaded, the module colour and shape, and roughly what size it was printed at.
Please do not include the contents of a code if they are private — a Wi-Fi password, say, or a phone number. Describing what kind of code it was is enough.
Frequently asked
Is anything I type sent anywhere?
No. The code is generated on your phone by the app itself, and the release build does not request the internet permission — so it could not upload anything even by accident.
Do the codes expire?
No. A static QR code has its destination baked into the image; there is no subscription and no redirect that can be switched off. Whatever it points to just needs to stay online.
Can I edit a code after printing it?
Not with a static code — the content is inside the image. Editable codes need a hosted redirect, which is exactly the kind of server this app deliberately does not have.
Why does the app ask for camera access?
Only for the scanner. Decline it and every other tool still works, and you can scan a code from a photo instead.
Which formats can I download?
PNG at 512, 1,024 or 2,048 pixels, saved to Photos; and SVG, PDF and EPS through the share sheet. SVG keeps your colours, module shape and centre mark; PDF and EPS use classic square modules.
Is there a paid version?
No. Everything is free, with no limits, no watermark, no subscription and no in-app purchases. The centre mark, colours and module shapes are all included.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Creating, styling, downloading and scanning all work with no connection. The only thing that needs the internet is whatever a code points to when someone scans it.

Deleting your data
ProQR has no account and stores nothing about you on a server, so there is no account to delete. Everything the app keeps lives on your phone: uninstalling it removes all of it. To clear codes without uninstalling, use Settings → Clear all saved QRs, and remove scans from Scan history in the workspace.
